NT Water in the Bush Conference and Awards Dinner 2024

Now in its 35th year, our Water in the Bush Conference is the Territory’s premier annual water conference connecting water professionals, the community and industry from across Australia to share information and knowledge about the current and future state of the Territory’s water and inspire positive change.

Announcing our 2024 NT Water Award Finalists so far: 

Young Water Professional of the Year Award: 
Mathilda Lipscombe, Water Demand Coordinator - Remote Communities, Power and Water Corporation
Dr Susannah Clement, Senior Policy Officer, Department of Environment, Parks and Water Security 

Water Professional of the Year Award: 
Kylie Collins, Senior Manager Strategic Water, Power and Water Corporation

Ministerial Address
The Honourable Joshua Burgoyne, Minister for Water Resources 

Joshua Burgoyne was appointed as a Northern Territory minister in September 2024 with the portfolios of Water Resources; Lands, Planning and Environment; Corporate and Digital Strategy.  Joshua will provide an update on his portfolio & priorities and discuss the NT Government's strategic aspirations.

Territory born and bred, Joshua is passionate about supporting people, having been raised by his parents who worked in the medical industry and police services for over 3 decades. An electrician by trade, Joshua has worked for a small family run business and is passionate about ensuring business and industry has certainty to operate, innovate and invest. 

 

 

Welcome to Country
James Parfitt, Director, Top End Dreaming -Indigenous Employment and Consultancy

Our Welcome to Country will be provided by James Parfitt (Fejo) a Larrakia and Wurrumungu man from the Northern Territory. 

James is the co-founder of Bilata Indigenous Legal Pathways program and is currently studying law at CDU. Previously, he worked as Community Engagement Officer with Royal Commission into the Protection and Detention of Children in the Northern Territory and the Royal Commission into Child sexual abuse in institutions. He also participates in various community engagements and Board memberships.
