Would you like to learn how to Communicate with Clarity and Influence? Join us for technical presentations from one of our State Water Award Winners and two of our YWPs on their Ozwater YWP Program experiences. Plus, learn valuable communication skills to enhance your career, achieve your goals and make a lasting impact in our facilitated professional development workshop.   

Technical Hour Speakers

Luca plays a defining role in the Australian Water sector and is a leading water scientist recognised for major state, national and international contributions and collaborations to environmental engineering, science & technical leadership, education and water management reform. Luca will talk about lessons learned during the Horrocks WTP Continuous Electrochlorination (CEC) Upgrade, winner of the 2023 WA Infrastructure Award (Regional) and 2024 Connected by Water Best Paper. 
Dinithi Fernando

 

Dinithi Fernando, Civil Engineer, Stantec 
Dinithi is proficient in project management, design and construction, with a demonstrated track record of delivering high-quality results in major water and transport infrastructure projects. Dinithi recently participated in the Ozwater'24 Young Water Professionals Program and will provide some insights on her experience. 

Jake Faranda

 

Jake Faranda, Engineering Hydrologist, Pentium Water 
Jake is a civil engineer with ten years’ experience in water and consulting, primarily in environmental systems and urban development. Jake is actively involved in the local water sector and is Vice Chair of WA YWP Subcommittee. Jake will discuss his YWP experience at Ozwater including standout themes of sustainability and traditional owners in water; sustainability session favourites (stormwater harvesting, effluent treatment wetland and reuse, LGA’s path to net zero) and TO session favourites (yarning circle, drinking water in a remote community, landscape restoration).

Facilitated Workshop

Honed communication skills sit at the core of professional success, whether being applied within a team, to third parties and suppliers, into management or presenting to a wider organisation.

This interactive workshop, Communicating with Clarity and Influence, delivered by communication expert Tanya Andrews, teaches young professionals career skills that will significantly increase your ability to communicate your point of view clearly and create real influence in your role. You will come away with a deeper understanding of not only your communication style and the style of your colleagues, but ways to share your approach to a wide variety of situations and circumstances for success outcomes.
