Written by Kyllie Whitehead | Oct 26, 2022 11:23:03 AM

***REGISTRATION HAS NOW CLOSED***
Would you like to come with us as we explore the ocean of opportunities in WA's Great Southern? On this two (2) day tour we will be visiting sites across the Albany and Denmark region covering water source planning, estuarine catchment management, water sensitive urban design and water resource recovery. For something a little different, we have also decided to provide an introduction to the blue economy, highlighting some of the marine water and terrestrial water connections and introducing other industry opportunities like ocean energy.  The tour will include a networking dinner on the first day and sundowner to finish off the tour on the second day.

Specific topics and/or sites to be covered on the tour include:

  • Water resource recovery – Albany WRRF and Tree Planation
  • UWA's Marine Energy Research Australia – Albany
  • Blue Economy and Great Southern development opportunities
  • Water source planning and the new Albany-Denmark Pipeline
  • Water treatment – Denmark WTP
  • Estuarine and catchment water quality management – Wilson Inlet, Denmark
  • Urban water management initiatives – Albany
  • Distillery tour and Sundowner at Great Southern Distilling Co – Albany

See here for the full program (all sites may be subject to Covid restrictions at the time of the tour and sites may change without notice).
