October Guest Speaker

Brett Clapham

Brett Clapham, Principal Process Engineer | Water, Stantec
Brett has 12 years’ experience in process engineering, having lived and worked in South Africa, New Zealand and Australia. He has worked on a wide range of water projects, covering surface water, groundwater, seawater, hypersaline groundwater, and recycled water. Brett’s technical and project experience span the full phases of projects, from desktop studies through to detailed design, commissioning, and construction & operational support.

Brett is going to speak about Water Corporation’s Groundwater Replenishment Scheme. The Scheme was developed in response to Perth’s growing water demands and declining rainfall. Wastewater recycling plants in the Perth metropolitan area represent an alternative water source if the water is treated properly. The Beenyup Advanced Water Recycling Plant was developed to make use of the treated effluent produced by the Beenyup wastewater treatment plant and provides recycled water for indirect potable reuse by injecting highly treated water into the aquifer. Alternative water treatment solutions need to be considered to support Perth’s future.”
