From February to October the WA Branch Committee will host monthly informal networking events in the form of after-work Sundowner drinks. Each month we'll have an interesting topic for discussion and the opportunity to meet and catch up with others working in water. Our sundowners are free for both AWA members and non-members and you are welcome to bring a friend.

Guest Speaker
Kate Riddell, Principal, Marsden Jacob Associates
Kate joined Marsden Jacob Associates in 2022, after 12 years with the WA Government. She has more than 15 years’ professional experience in senior research, policy and strategy roles in government and research. In this time, Kate has extensive experience in policy and strategy development and project management, as well as developing and providing evidence-based advice and recommended solutions across a range of social policy areas. Kate holds a PhD in Political Science and International Relations from UWA.
Kate will be discussing centring your project in a bigger picture: a wide-angle view of your strategic impact. Social impact assessment and effective stakeholder management & communication are important to securing support for projects. However, when it comes to this we tend to focus on our immediate sphere(s) of influence, often unaware that a project’s impacts can be more broadly experienced. A wide-angle approach that aligns anticipated project benefits with a client’s broader strategic goals and objectives, could enhance your success in securing their support.
Would your organisation like to host a 2023 Sundowner?
In 2023 we're offering our Corporate Members the opportunity to host a sundowner at your office/premises. As a host you will have the opportunity for a 5 minute business pitch and the opportunity to provide a speaker or the AWA will source a guest speaker and in return, all we ask is that you provide us with a space for around 35-45 people with some drinks and nibbles.
