Each month we'll have an interesting topic for discussion and the opportunity to meet and catch up with other AWA members and non-members. Events are free, with a bar available at the venue to purchase your own drinks. Food is also available to purchase. We look forward to seeing you for a casual gathering of like-minded water sector professionals!

June Guest Speakers

The climate of Perth, Western Australia, is becoming hotter and drier, while urban development and the demand for water continue to grow – challenges that no single organisation can tackle on its own. Eleven WA Government agencies are working together under the Waterwise program to  transform Greater Perth into a leading waterwise city.

Our June guest speakers, Winsome MacLaurin, Department of Water and Environmental Regulation and Antonietta Torre, Water Corporation will highlight the achievements under the first two-year Waterwise Perth Action Plan (2019-2021), including an overview of the award-winning projects and innovative technology delivered by the program.

Winsome MacLaurin photo Winsome MacLaurin is the Waterwise Cities Program Manager at the Western Australian Department of Water and Environmental Regulation.  This includes managing the State government’s Water Wise Perth Action Plan program of work, being delivered across eleven agencies and multiple stakeholders.  An important aspect of this role is its interface with the work of Water Sensitive Cities Australia and the Western Australian Water Sensitive Transition Network.
Antonietta Torre - photo Antonietta Torre is Principal Waterwise Cities at Water Corporation Western Australia. Antonietta has a background in environmental engineering and has worked in water for 25 years, specialising in waterways management and water sensitive urban design. Antonietta is passionate about managing water in ways that help create healthy environments, people and places.
