WA Sundowner April 2023

From February to October the WA Branch Committee will host monthly informal networking events in the form of after-work Sundowner drinks. Each month we'll have an interesting topic for discussion and the opportunity to meet and catch up with other AWA members and non-members.

Guest Speakers
Our April guest speakers are Jack Lu, Digital Delivery Technical Lead and Bradley Allpike, Technical Director of Drinking Water and Treatment and Principal Process Engineer at Jacobs who will be talking about Embracing Digital Solutions to Enhance the Lifecycle of Water Assets. 

Jack has a Mechanical Engineering background and 15 years professional experience in the delivery of water and wastewater assets and has extensive experience in applying digital tools, particularly during design delivery, to enhance visualisation, collaboration and design engagement on projects ranging from large trunk main pipelines to water treatment plants.

Brad has delivered projects across Australia, the Middle East, South East Asia, North Africa and China over a 20+ year career.  Recently Brad was the Engineering Manager for the Bryn Estyn Water Treatment plant, where Digital Engineering tools were extensively used for delivery of the detailed design.  Brad is at the forefront of Jacobs Digital Solutions and involved in rolling out these application to benefit design, commissioning, construction and through the operational phase of projects.

With the ever-growing challenge to become more efficient and innovative, the water industry is embracing Digital Solutions as an answer, but what is it? Would your organisation like to host a 2023 Sundowner?
In 2023 we're offering our Corporate Members the opportunity to host a sundowner at your office/premises. As a host you will have the opportunity for a 5 minute business pitch and the opportunity to provide a speaker or the AWA will source a guest speaker and in return, all we ask is that you provide us with a space for around 30-40 people with some drinks and nibbles. Express your hosting interest here. 

COVIDSafe Guidelines
The Australian Water Association has closely followed Government recommendations to develop COVIDSafe Guidelines for AWA events going forward. These guidelines will be in place at this event and have been developed to ensure attendee health and safety. Your support is also essential to keep this event COVIDSafe. We ask that delegates observe good hygiene and physical distancing at the event, where possible. If you are feeling unwell, please do not attend the event.

Our sundowners are free for both members and non-members and you are welcome to bring a friend.
