VIC Technical Event December 2024
We will be joined by a panel of Victorian industry leaders, who are striving towards an equitable, secure and adaptive water future for Victoria. Our panel will stir us to draw lessons from Victoria’s water legacy to curate a brighter water future as we step into 2025.
The panel discussion will start at 6pm Thursday 5 December 2024, and will be followed by celebratory drinks and networking.
To make it easier to join the discussion with our panel and with your AWA colleagues, we will run several hubs throughout Victoria. When making your booking, please note which hub you will be attending for catering purposes.

Julien Tauvry | Plant Director of the Victorian Desalination Project, Suez (Watersure) Julien has more than 25 years of international experience, having worked on large scale drinking water infrastructures in Europe, Africa, Asia and Oceania, complex frameworks (PPP, DBO, services) and advanced technologies, across all phases of a project (bid, design, construction, operation and maintenance). Julien has been calling Australia home for 15 years now and lives with his family on the beautiful Bass Coast in Victoria. |

Michelle Cramer | GHD Future Communities Leader – Australia Michelle is passionate about putting people first when creating connected, productive, resilient and inspired communities. An architect, urban designer and urban development leader she has experience in development, government and consulting. Michelle brings a holistic understanding of place, precincts, property, infrastructure, governance, sustainability, social impact, urban economics and innovation to city shaping projects. She is a Harvard graduate, Fulbright & Knox Scholar, specialist advisor to UNICEF Australia and Mercedes Benz, and sits on the Sydney University and Harvard University Graduate School of Design Alumni Councils. She was recently awarded the 2024 Property Council of Australia Pathfinder Award. |

Greg Robinson | Head of First Nation Values, Barwon Water Greg is a Wadawurrung man, living and working on Country in the Geelong and Surf Coast region. With 5 years of focused experience in managing water and environmental projects across Wadawurrung Country, he has a passion and inherit commitment to caring for and protecting bio-Cultural landscapes. Currently, Greg holds the position of Head of First Nation Values at Barwon Water. He is deeply committed to enabling self-determined outcomes for Traditional Owners and First Nation communities, and he works tirelessly to drive institutional change, ensuring that First Nation communities are empowered to shape and lead the future of Country management. |

Dr Kirsten Shelly | Deputy Secretary, Water and Catchments, DEECA Kirsten was appointed to her current role in January 2024. She previously held several leadership positions across government departments, including Director of Water Strategy at QLD Water Commission, Director of Strategies at QLD Department of Energy and Water Supply, supporting former Victorian Water Minister, Lisa Neville, as her Senior Water Advisor, a range of roles at Melbourne Water since 2016, most recently leading the Services Futures group as their Executive General Manager. This is complemented by her experience on the Victorian Catchment Management Council, Peter Cullen Trust board and completion of the Australian Institute of Company Directors program. |
