Topic – Water & Agriculture - A case study on greenfield vineyard development and the pivotal role of water
Join Colin as he unravels the journey of transforming an open paddock into a vineyard in the Barossa region. This project began with a water conundrum faced by the local council and a landowner’s ambition to maximize returns from their premium land. Colin will delve into the critical decision-making process, innovative strategies employed to enhance vineyard performance, and the instrumental role that water has had on this project. So, grab yourself a glass of your preferred red or white, and immerse yourself in the fascinating world of viticulture.

Colin Hinze, Senior Consultant of Agriculture Production and Adoption at Pinion Advisory.
Colin is a Senior Agribusiness Consultant and provides viticulture and farm management advisory services to a diverse range of clients and industry groups. With over 25 years of professional experience working with both corporate and family businesses, Colin brings a wealth of knowledge and skills relating to leadership, strategic planning, and continuous improvement.
Colin has excellent technical skills in viticulture, including precision agriculture practices, and has also won industry awards within this field. He also has a detailed understanding of project management, business case development and a practical knowledge of primary production business drivers.
His passion is to develop and maintain sustainable and profitable farming systems for current and future generations.
