About the Program
The program looks to support organisational Graduate and Leadership Development programs. It provides dedicated and enthusiastic early-career water professionals the opportunity to develop skills, knowledge, and technical expertise under the guidance of recognised water industry experts. For mentors, it’s a chance to share your hard-earned knowledge with the next generation of water leaders and experts.
Mentors
For those with more experience in the water industry, who are interested in becoming mentors, this is an opportunity to:
*Hone your coaching and leadership skills
*Connect with the next generation of water professionals
*Access a perspective outside your own organisation and professional level
*Use your valuable experience and expertise to enrich the future of the water industry
*Give back by sharing your professional knowledge and experience
Mentees
For members in the early stages of their careers, mentoring can help you:
*Gain advice, develop new relationships, and learn skills from industry leaders outside your current organisation.
*Focus on and clarify your career aspirations
*Network with more experienced professionals who can assist you in achieving or setting your goals
*Establish a foothold in the water industry through your mentors’ industry experience and insight
The mentoring relationship can be a formal or informal professional relationship and is based on openness, mutual trust, respect, encouragement, constructive comments and a willingness to learn.
