Regional Water Champions Event
The Management of Water by and with First Nations People
Join the NSW Regional Water Champions as we share the challenges and successes of how water is managed by, and with, First Nations people of Australia. We celebrate an award-winning project for the Aboriginal community of Jubullum, presented by Tom Attwood.
Three representatives from the Dharriwaa Elders Group will discuss water challenges in the community of Walgett in New South Wales and Jimmy Cocking will be discussing the Central Australian consultation for the development of the Northern Territory Water Plan as well as some of the pathways forward in the recent 'Working Together for Better Water for the Bush' workshop.
The event will be facilitated by Daniel Gray from Wiradjuri County.
A discussion panel with our speakers will follow the presentations, offering attendees an opportunity to participate and discuss aspects of water management from their own perspective or to ask questions of the panel.
This hybrid event is offered online and in seven in-person Hubs across New South Wales and the Northern Territory. Food and refreshments will be available to those attending the Hubs.
