QWater'21 Conference will now be hosted at Sea World Resort & Conference Centre, Gold Coast, QLD (original venue: Sofitel Brisbane Central) due to the impact of COVID.
Embracing Positive Change Through Disruption
A decade ago our industry was coming to grips with the drive for innovation. Now, in 2021, we are empowered to proactively innovate in our organisations and our conversations have shifted. We are beginning to understand that the culture of innovation we fought to engender is, among other events, also normalising disruption.
They are yin and yang, innovation drives disruption and disruption inspires innovation – just look at our response to the global COVID pandemic; from 3 day snap lock downs to flexible working environments, we demonstrated that we could make it a Zoom call and still deliver on time.
We are becoming adept at managing the ever-changing environment that is equally of our own making and thrust upon us by the ongoing pandemic, natural disasters, emerging technologies and the rapidly evolving understanding of climate change. This environment forces us to find new ways to solve old problems, adapt old ways to solve new problems and presents a myriad of opportunities for those prepared to harness them. So how do we make the most of the challenges before us?
The conference deliberately seeks to provide a forum where technical learnings are celebrated and personal growth is commended with papers and presentations targeted at enhancing our industry through SHARED experiences, CONNECTED membership, and INSPIRED individuals.

The Australian Water Association has closely followed Government recommendations to develop COVIDSafe Guidelines for AWA events going forward. These guidelines will be in place at this event and have been developed to ensure attendee health and safety. Your support is also essential to keep this event COVIDSafe. We ask that delegates observe good hygiene and physical distancing at the event, where possible. If you are feeling unwell, please do not attend the event. Please email events@awa.asn.au at least 24 hours prior to the event if you are unable to attend due to illness. Under these circumstances a transfer of your registration to a colleague will be accepted at no cost. If Government restrictions impact your ability to attend, or AWA's ability to hold the event, an AWA team member will be in touch to discuss your registration.
