NT Minister's Breakfast 2024

Join us for an insightful morning of networking, hear from influential figures in the Northern Territory Water sector and enjoy breakfast while engaging with key voices in the field.

The 2024 Northern Territory Minister’s Breakfast themed, What are the Territory’s priorities for Water Resilience over the next decadewill include a Ministerial Address from the Hon Kate Worden, Minister for Environment, Climate Change and Water Security 

Minister Worden will discuss the NT priorities for water resilience over the next decade, considering the influence of climate change and the need to protect the Territory’s environment and cultural values, as well as water security for urban, regional and remote communities and the role water plays in Closing the Gap of Indigenous disadvantage, along with water for the economy (including agriculture and green hydrogen).  

 

The Darwin event will consist of a hot plated breakfast with the event to be livestreamed via webinar.

James Parfitt
Director, Top End Dreaming -Indigenous Employment and Consultancy

Our Welcome to Country will be provided by James Parfitt (Fejo) a Larrakia and Wurrumungu man from the Northern Territory. James is the co-founder of Bilata Indigenous Legal Pathways program and is currently studying law at CDU. Previously, he worked as Community Engagement Officer with Royal Commission into the Protection and Detention of Children in the Northern Territory and the Royal Commission into Child sexual abuse in institutions. He also participates in various community engagements and Board memberships.

Minister for Environment, Climate Change and Water Security; Minister for Renewables and Energy; Minister for the Prevention of Domestic, Family and Sexual Violence; Minister for Essential Services; Minister for Sport.

Kate Worden has been the Member for Sanderson since 2016, and holds multiple ministries in the Northern Territory Government, including as the Minister for the Environment, Climate Change and Water Security.
Kate is a long term Territorian, and has raised her family in the Top End, having lived in Ngukkur in the Roper Gulf Region, before returning to Darwin in 1995.
Kate is passionate about the Territory and working for the benefit of all people.

Natalie delivers advice to government and industry on infrastructure planning, program development and environmental approvals particularly for the economic and social development of regional and remote areas. Natalie’s 20 years of project experience includes infrastructure planning, environmental assessments and stakeholder engagement particularly with Traditional Owners and indigenous communities.

Natalie is a past NT Branch President of the Australian Water Association and is currently the lead environmental consultant for the AROWS project. Natalie is committed to achieving equitable and sustainable water supply outcomes across the NT.
