Georgina’s project highlights are working on the detailed design of the Bryn Estyn Water Treatment Plant (a 160MLD upgrade of the treatment plant which is the primary source of Hobart’s drinking water), mentoring a group of undergraduate university students through the University of Melbourne’s Innovation as a Practice Program and developing an internal business strategy for applications of social value within the water team.
Georgina enjoys contributing to the wider water industry through the Australian Water Association and has had active roles on the Victorian Young Water Professionals Subcommittee. She organised Regional Conferences in Gippsland (2020) and Sunbury (2021) and was YWP Chair of the committee during 2021/2022. Her highlights for the Chair role were getting to know the committee, running some new virtual/in person initiatives (thanks to a few COVID curveballs) and MC’ing at the 2022 YWP Ball alongside past YWP chairs Sam Skinner and Celeste Ward - an event 3 years in the making with COVID cancellations in 2020 & 2021!
Georgina will be transferring to Darwin for 6 months early this year and is looking forward to connecting with local water colleagues, taking on a personal/professional challenge and feeling like a tourist while exploring a new city!
