It is with great sadness that we learn of the passing of Harold Archer on Sunday 6 March. Harold was Managing Director and founder of Water Treatment Australia and an AWA member for 20 years.
Harold played a highly significant and pioneering role in the development of the water treatment industry in Australia, winning a number of design awards and being personally involved in the design and construction of over 900 drinking water and wastewater treatment plants throughout Australia and in New Zealand, Sri Lanka, Fiji, Papua New Guinea, Thailand and China.
Fiercely independent, Harold ran his own company for over 60 years and was still working right up until he passed. Water Treatment Australia has become a leader in the provision of water treatment design and technology. There are literally thousands of filters designed by Harold in the world!
Harold was a very humble man, well respected and highly professional, who would rather get on with the job at hand than argue with anyone. He is a true legend of water and will be greatly missed.
