Ozwater 2022 – Are you thinking about submitting a paper?
Ozwater’22 is going to be in Brisbane next May and COVID-19 restrictions permitted; it's sure to be well attended!
Ozwater is an excellent opportunity to showcase your unique insights, projects and learnings with a paper. Although 2022 is a long way off, the deadline for the call for papers is not! Midnight 20 September 2021.
The conference theme for 2022 is ‘Our Water Journey’, which celebrates the evolution of the water sector from its rich history, where we are now and what possibilities lie in our future.
The Ozwater organising committee has selected a dozen diverse sub-themes for the conference and the wild card category that reminds us of the need to think outside the box to solve our water challenges.
Three types of submissions can be made:
- an extended abstract
- a case study
- a video pitch
When preparing your submissions, it is essential to follow the templates.
The submissions are uploaded into a dedicated portal to manage their reviews and acceptances. The extended abstracts are for research papers whose ideas and significance can be readily understood. The abstracts should be no longer than two pages with up to three pages of tables and graphs. The case studies are suited to organisations or individuals who can describe a real-life water issue, have been able to analyse the issue, implement a solution and evaluate the results of the project, and present it in a case study format.
Video pitches are an alternative to the text format of the extended abstracts and case studies submissions. Sometimes, a video pitch is the best platform for quickly conveying the stories and ideas behind people projects and programs.
If your submission is accepted into the program, you will be notified in November and have until 7 February 2022 to register for Ozwater and submit your paper. After the peer review of your paper, you must submit the final paper and presentation slides by 20 April 2022. All the details are in the submission guide.
If your submission is accepted, you will be offered one of two types of presentations either:
- 20-minute oral presentation (includes speaker introduction) + 5-minute Q&A, or
- 5-minute oral presentation (No Q&A) + A1 technical poster displayed in Exhibition Hall.
Please read the submission guide before proceeding to the submission portal. If you have any questions or need more information, don't hesitate to contact events@awa.asn.au.
