Week three of Ozwater’20 Online has drawn to a close and delegates have been spoilt for choice with fascinating keynote presentations on the Internet of Things and interdisciplinary innovation, as well as a range of technical presentations covering everything from digital water metering to customers and drought response.
And there’s still lots to come! Week four of Ozwater’20 Online is packed full of expertise and will also reveal more winners of the Australian Water Awards.
Day 7 (23 June) gets started with a keynote presentation from The Demographics Group Director and co-founder Simon Keustenmacher. The Demographics Group provides specialist advice on demographic, consumer and social trends for business.
Day 8 (25 June) will feature the much anticipated keynote presentation from Madjulla Inc. Managing Director Dr. Anne Poelina, who is also Chair of the Martuwarra Fitzroy River Council. For four decades, Dr Poelina has worked in Indigenous and environmental justice and advocacy, and her current work explores the entrepreneurial ‘New Economy’ opportunities for Indigenous people along the Fitzroy River.

During week two of Ozwater’20, winners were announced for some of the Australian Water Awards categories, including Research Innovation, Program Innovation, Infrastructure Innovation and Water Industry Safety Excellence.
On Day 8, the winners of the Young Water Professional of the Year and Water Professional of the Year awards will be announced during the virtual Happy Hour. The Best Water e-Journal and the Lifetime Achievement Award will also be presented.

You might not be able to stroll past them in person, but you can still check out this year's Ozwater posters for bite-sized bits of information. Available for perusal on the Ozwater’20 Online event platform, the e-Posters offer delegates all the latest in water industry happenings.
Week 4 brings three more presentations from authors of the Top 11 Ozwater’20 papers.
Check out the list here, and then jump online to hear from GHD’s Laura De Rango and TasWater’s Bardia Solati, who will discuss their pragmatic approach to optimising 30 sewage treatment plant lagoons on Day 7.
On Day 8, you can hear from top paper author Julian Fyfe, Water Quality and Sustainability Manager at Parkes Shire Council in New South Wales. He’ll be chatting about how the council is using recycled water to create a greener town.
And don’t miss Beata Sochacka from the Advanced Water Management Centre discussing water and liveability.
