We are deeply saddened to bring you the news that Paul Darvodelsky passed away yesterday after a long illness.
Paul was an inaugural member and Chair of the Australian and New Zealand Biosolids Partnership (ANZBP) for many years and only recently stepped down from that position due to his declining health.
Under his chairmanship the ANZBP has held numerous conferences, raised the profile of the biosolids industry, and provided a platform for the exchange of knowledge and experience on biosolids management. His passion for biosolids and the ANZBP itself were well known across the sector.
We will all greatly miss his contributions, knowledge, and his generosity of spirit to all those connected with the biosolids industry.
Paul has been on a heroic journey with his illness over the past years and has faced it with a level of courage and positive determination that is not often seen. Right up to the end Paul was speaking with us about his aspirations for the ANZBP and recommendations on how to strengthen the ANZBP membership.
He was an inspiration for us all and the Australian Water Association extends condolences to his wife Cath and his extended family and friends.
