New water leader for Cardno
Infrastructure company Cardno has appointed a National Water and Environment Business Leader to grow its water practice.
Andrew Spinks will take up the position following more than 12 years in management and leadership roles, including the past five years leading Jacobs’ New South Wales Water and Environment business.
Cardno Asia Pacific Region CEO Jamie Alonso said Spinks’ mandate is to build a robust and engaged water and environment practice using the strong brand, skilled people and great capability Cardno has to offer.
“Andrew has a strong track record of commitment to people, and in particular management, within the water and environment space, and he will be a vital part of the Cardno team,” Alonso said.
“As a proven leader in this field, I look forward to working with him and seeing Andrew’s skills in action.”
Along with his extensive operational experience, Spinks is also a strong believer in the importance and power of inclusion in the workplace.
He was the ANZ Executive Ambassador for PRISM, Jacobs’ global network for LGBTI employees and their allies, and remains committed to foster this culture in the National Water and Environment team and the wider Cardno business.
Spinks has a PhD in Zoology from the University of Cape Town and more than 20 years of experience as an environmental planner and project manager, delivering complex infrastructure projects in South Africa and Australia.
