After an extensive executive search, Amanda Smith has been appointed as City West Water’s new General Manager of Strategy and Planning.
Smith is currently City West Water’s Service Performance Manager in the Infrastructure and Delivery Group. She has acted as both the General Manager of Infrastructure and Delivery and the General Manager of Customers and Community during her 10 years at the Melbourne utility, as well as acting as the CEO of VicWater in 2018.
City West Water Managing Director David Ryan said Smith's experience would help her lead the Strategy and Planning Group at City West Water, which is responsible for the business’s strategic long-term planning, direction setting, and development of key business strategies.
"Amanda is an engaging and dynamic leader whose extensive experience in the water industry is supported by her commitment to innovation, unwavering focus on exceptional customer outcomes and passion for developing people and teams," Ryan said.
"Amanda’s experience driving customer-centric transformation in the way we deliver services through assets, better harnessing data, collaboration and optimising investments will be instrumental in continuing the great work that has been done in the Strategy and Planning Group to date."
Amanda Smith will take up the role of General Manager Strategy and Planning on 1 April 2019.
