Beca and Hunter H2O join forces
Beca, one of the leading employee-owned engineering and professional services firms in the Asia-Pacific, has agreed to purchase New South Wales-based Hunter H2O.
The combined entity will provide the strength of more than 300 water specialists across the Australian eastern seaboard, New Zealand and the Pacific. These will be backed by more than 3,800 multidisciplinary professional services practitioners from across Beca.
Headquartered in Newcastle, Hunter H2O is an employee-owned specialist water industry consultancy providing professional engineering and project management services.
“The strong capability offering, and geographic coverage created through the combination of Beca and Hunter H2O, as well as the clear cultural alignment between our two organisations, was a key driver for the acquisition," said Beca’s Australian Managing Director, Craig Lee.
“We share similar philosophies and ambitions and together we will bring formidable capabilities, capacity and scale to provide exceptional service to our water clients across Australasia.
"Our combined international capability gives us the breadth of expertise to deliver the solutions we know are needed to solve the water challenges we are all facing over the next decade and beyond.
“We very much look forward to welcoming the Hunter H2O team to Beca."
“It was important to us to find an owner that aligned with our ways of working and culture. We’re proud of the strong reputation we have built in the water industry and wanted to ensure our legacy would continue,” said Hunter H2O’s Managing Director, Peter Dennis.
The new group will be known as “Beca Hunter H2O” in Australia.
The terms of the transaction have not been disclosed.
