A Message from our VIC YWP Co-Chair
Spring is now upon us and with it comes the lovely warmth of the sun but also spring rains. Now that La Nina is coming to an end and El Nino is on the horizon, it is clear that the water sector must be resilient and prepared as America now faces flooding in major cities such as Las Vegas while the Eastern seaboard of Australia is still recovering from the effects of the floods from recent years.
However, what we do have in Australia is a fair amount of enthusiasm and quite a bit of talent on offer as demonstrated from our recent AWA VIC event on Migrants in Water and also through our Young Water Professionals as they just finished up on the annual Regional Study Tour in North-Eastern Victoria. For a recap of these events, check out our articles in this edition of the VIC Source to learn more.
Hopefully we’ll also catch more AWA members at future AWA VIC events especially as AWA celebrates its diamond jubilee at the upcoming AWA VIC Gala Dinner & Awards this October where we will be honouring Victoria’s most outstanding achievers in the water sector!
