2024 Northern Territory Water Awards: championing excellence in the north

The 2024 Northern Territory Water Awards have honoured the Territory’s best projects and professionals, celebrating their contributions to the water sector.

Held during the NT Water in the Bush Conference & Awards Dinner at the Darwin Convention Centre on 9 October, the awards recognised the inspiring leadership, innovative research and impactful infrastructure projects of Australian Water Association (AWA) members.

AWA Chief Executive Corinne Cheeseman praised the finalists and winners for their outstanding approach to the Territory’s water challenges.

“These award winners highlight the exceptional work being done in the Northern Territory to protect our vital groundwater sources and tackle complex issues, like PFAS contamination,” she said.

“Their leadership in finding innovative solutions demonstrates a steadfast commitment to sustainable water management.

“By setting new standards in environmental assessment and delivering safe drinking water, our winners are shaping a brighter future for all Australians. It’s a privilege to recognise their contributions and dedication to the health of our water systems.”

This year’s Northern Territory Water Award winners will go on to represent the Territory in the national Australian Water Awards, which will be presented at the AWA’s annual water conference and exhibition, Ozwater’25 in Adelaide.
