As water professionals in Australia we face some
significant challenges, such as providing new (or renewing)
infrastructure, shortages in skilled professionals and adapting to
changing climate. Fortunately, the water sector in this country has a
wealth of talent and expertise that enables us to respond innovatively
to these challenges and develop some unique approaches to water
management.
In Western Australia the water sector is demonstrating innovative
leadership. The Waterwise Council Program and the Calcite Treatment Process are just two examples of outstanding
achievements by water sector individuals and organisations in WA.
The successful outcomes of our work are
themselves the greatest reward, offering immense value and personal
satisfaction. However, the Australian Water Association believes that
the commitment, dedication and passion of water sector professionals
also deserve to be more broadly recognised and celebrated.
For 50 years, the AWA has offered a series of
awards to acknowledge the achievements of the water sector. Help us to
recognise these contributions by nominating yourself, your organisation
or a fellow water professional for the 2012 WA Water Awards.
The water industry has much to be proud of - let’s share it!
