Given in honour of Guy Parker
Awarded to the author of the best paper published in Water each year. This award aims to encourage high standard publications and recognise authors with a high standard of writing. This award replaces the earlier Guy Parker Award.
Award Patron - Cecil David
Cecil David (Guy) Parker made a major contribution to the founding of the Australian Water Association in 1962. As a member, Federal Councillor, Federal President and Honorary Secretary-Treasurer, he participated wholeheartedly and made a significant contribution to Association affairs.
As chairman of the journal committee, Guy Parker was also responsible for the planning, management and development of Water, from its inception in 1974 until his sudden death in December 1981. In particular, his input enabled Water to reach the uniformly high technical standard and presentation that has been accepted as the ‘norm’.
