All of the Association’s work internationally including inbound and outbound missions are fully self-funded by participants or financed by the Australian government. The Association acts in a facilitating and monitoring capacity by opening up opportunities for all of our members wishing to expand their activities into international markets. Contact the International Team if you would like to get involved.

The Australian Water Association’s International Team undertook a mission to Hanoi, Vietnam on 9 September to sign a MoU with the Vietnam Women’s Union.

The MoU formalises the Association’s relationship with the VWU and acknowledges the important role and significant achievements of the VWU in protecting women’s legitimate rights and striving for gender equality.

A project is now being planned for in Son La Province where the Association will work with the VWU to:
  • Install low cost advanced treatment technology to support safe drinking water
  • Establish a village-based water business that is financially sustainable
  • Empower women to manage the village-based water business and the village-based tourism enterprise.

The Association will seek to coordinate the participation of leading female water professionals from Australia to work with the VWU in Son La for this project and other planned projects.

The Association invites you to attend Vietwater'16 in Ho Chi Minh City and Ozwater'17 in Sydney, where we will showcase the outcomes from this partnership.
